On a very special Mother’s Day episode of Game of Thrones we are shown many aspects of love. Since this is a dark world of death and pain, the love we see isn’t the type Hallmark wants us to buy into, no sir! Ygritte wants to show Jon Snow a very physical form of love that eventually gets Jon so sex-addled that he makes some mistakes. Arya’s love of mutton clouds her judgment to such an extent that Lord Tywin gets mighty suspicious. Cersei schools Sansa on why love is terrible just before she mentions to Tyrion that love made Joffrey evil. Dany loves her dragons so much that she may be walking right into a trap. Jamie Lannister loves making fun of both dead Ned and Brienne. Lastly, dear readers, Theon shows us what the love of power can bring – charred Stark Children. He is somehow even more terrible. I hate him so much.
